Enolase (2-phosphoD-glycerate hyidrolyase) is an important glycolytic enzyme located on the cell wall of Candida albicans. This is a termostable and proteinic antigen, produced by all candida species. It is a marker of deep tissular invasion, detectable even in absence of candidemia. It has been described as highly immunogenic.
