Recombinant chimeric antigen CFP10:ESAT6 for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Koch's bacillus)

Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Koch's bacillus)

CFP10:ESAT6 is a chimeric antigen formed by the proteins CFP10 and ESAT6. The 10 kDa culture filtrate protein, CFP10, is codified by the esxB gene. This protein determines the bacteria virulence and it is not present in non tuberculous mycobacteria (NTMs). This antigen has been used in TB diagnosis in many diagnostic platforms. The early secretory antigenic target 6, ESAT6, plays a role in the bacteria virulence forming a secretion complex 1:1 with the protein CFP10. This antigen has been used in TB diagnosis in many diagnostic platforms.
