for Leishmania infantum

The K39 protein is an immunodominant repetitive epitope of kinesin, highly conserved among the viscerotropic species of this parasite. ELISAs based on this recombinant protein are considered to have high sensitivity and specificity for the serodiagnosis of human and canine visceral leishmaniasis.
